Covid Update Effective August 9, 2021

Considering the increase in number of cases and effects of the new delta variant, it is in our best interest to take a slight step back into masks for the protection of ourselves and those we serve.

Please read below and be sure to advise your family and friends of the next steps Siena is taking toward the safety of our community. If you have any questions, please inquire at the Reception Desk. These policies will go into effect 8/9/2021.

All Community Members and Staff should report illness to our office at the first sign, so we can take prompt action in slowing or stopping the spread of infection.

All of this information listed here is subject to change at the first sign of new infection, or with new guidance from health officials.  Over the next several months things may change rapidly, so stay tuned.

Visitors:

·        We would prefer no more than 4 visitors at a time to visit with you in your apartment/duplex. A child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult visitor.

·        Your visitors do not need to be from the same household.

·        Mask are required of ALL visitors on the Siena campus in the building or on the grounds, regardless of vaccination status.

·        Visitors are NOT allowed to congregate in common spaces/community rooms, including outdoor common spaces such as the patio and courtyard.

·        Visitors can dine with you in your apartment/duplex.  However, the Dining Room and Table Four is still only open to Community Members.

·        The Guest Suite is available for your friends and family to begin taking advantage of. Reservations should be made with our Reception Staff.

ALL Community Members and Staff:

·        Masks will be required of ALL staff, regardless of vaccinated status.

·        Residents are highly encouraged to wear a mask in the common areas and grounds of Siena but will not be required to do so.

·        Understanding that nearly 96% of us are vaccinated at Siena, management will not enforce a mask requirement for our community members if you so choose not to wear one, even those who have opted not to vaccinate.

·        Wearing a mask in crowded areas or around those non-vaccinated is still recommended, and those who feel more comfortable should continue to wear their mask.

Community Members & Staff who have NOT been vaccinated:

·        You have made this choice for various reasons.  Please be advised that by living and working in this congregational environment, you are at a higher risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus.

·        It is important for you to understand that studies have revealed that those vaccinated may not get ill or have severe consequences from the virus, however, they may still carry the virus to unvaccinated people.

·        Siena management will take no responsibility for your personal choices to unmask and remain unvaccinated.

Thank you all for your continued diligence and compassion for your neighbor, co-worker, family, and friends.  Let’s all do our small part to keep each other safe.
